The Latest...

Hello, hello!!

It's been a month since I've updated my blog, that's kind of crazy for me. But between the internet, school, the Feast of Tabernacles, my homework, and the various craziness that takes place at Legacy, I have slacked off. I figured it was time for an update. However, I did not realize that it has been a month since I written. Wow! Time sure does fly.

The Feast was really good. We had a few visitors. Though they were few, they were great! The Karen Family that we went to visit in the camp, which I told all of you about got to come. It was a lot of fun spending time with them. Though we couldn't speak the same language, it was great. The girls love cameras and taking pictures. Oh my! If you have a camera, they are your best friend. It made me laugh. We also had some Legacy graduates visit, which was fantastic seeing and talking with them. It's awesome to hear them speak English and carry on full length conversations with them. It's a glimmer of hope... we are doing something right here. One of my students who graduated last year (Jay) was baptized. It was very exciting!

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I guess I should get on with the photos. But how many words are a ton of pictures worth? :) I have a ton on here. Thankfully the internet cooperated with me and blogger. I'm warning you most of the pictures are of people. I like taking pictures of things, too. But I just like to have pictures of people. So that's what you get to see.

Special music by WiChai, Jay and Uaorawet (Japur).
They were singing a song Jay wrote. He is quite the
story teller, song writer and just overall entertaining guy.
I don't think I've ever met anyone else like Mr. Jay.

The river raft ride at the Elephant Camp-
a bunch of the students/ visitors were on there, hence the purple shirts.

Two of the Karen kids and me on the elephant ride.
Jess and Anna, I'm riding an elephant!! :)
The girl's name was Sunney Se and the little
boy was ______ tu. I don't remember.
So many names, but they were super cute.
I was little nervous making sure he did not fall out.

Jess, this one is just for you!!! Perfect right???
You need to come to Thailand!
I'll take you here if you come visit me. :)
The elephants painted quite the pictures.

After painting pictures, playing football, basket ball and taking
all the people on rides getting all hot and sweaty,
what would be better than a nice cool shower?!
This is an elephant that just took a bath.

Students past and present singing.
I love it when they sing! They are so talented.

A bunch of us at the umbrella factory.
They will paint anything on pretty much anything.
It was interesting.

Aj. Nathan, Aj. Gloria and Aj. Erika in the wood factory.
Some of the work at the factory was simply stunning.

The Karen girls, Ah jar our newest student,
and me in front of one the HUGE trees at the wood factory.

Malliwan and Fon playing with the fish
outside the silk factory.

The Karen Family singing special music in Karen.

Our amazing office staff!! Goi on the left with our newest student and Saow on the right! They're amazing!! This was at the bowling alley. Yes, they have bowling allies in Thailand.
In fact, I believe there are 3 in Chiang Mai.
(That's better than home, huh mom and dad? ;))

Three of our first year boys.
Samuey, Wahrut and Surachai.

My boys! These are my two students.
Uaorawet (Japur) and WiChai
They are our second year students.

Some of the guests with the Karen Family

LaNu Nan our third year student with the little Karen boy.
They were pretending like they were playing the piano, I think.
He has one of the greatest smiles!

Me with Miss Fon.
She would have been third year this year,
but she went and got married.

A couple of the kiddos with Nathan and Me.

One of the girls had my camera and was snapping away.

Isn't he adorable?!

We became friends. :)

The girls with the little boy. :)

Of course my blog would not be complete without football!!!

Isn't that a good looking team on the right?!

I was trying to be all artsy because I love the shoes.
My camera's zoom wasn't good enough. I took one on
Nathan's camera, so I may post that one when
I get it from him. I call them magic shoes!
They didn't help us win the game though.
In fact, it was 1-4. :( It was fun to watch!

Praying for safety and protection.

They are ready to play! :) Go Legacy!!

Hanging out before the game.

Erika with some first year students.

I think they were tired.

We drafted some new players. :)

Isn't she cute!! I love this photo!

You've heard of Back Street Boys and the various
other boy bands. Well, Legacy has a boy band too!
I'm kind of partial to them.

This is Fon and Atiwat. They were both former students at Legacy.
They are now married. They did a song for the talent show.
I think they did a fabulous job!
The camera's quality isn't the greatest, but you'll get the idea.

And just so you know I don't play all the time... this is what a grad student's desk looks like when they have an assignment due!
Notice the coffee! :) It such a great feeling turning in an assignment. Before I get started, I often ask myself why I signed up for homework again. haha! It's good. I'm learning a lot.

Well, I think that's all. I'm set for the month now, right? I'll try and get back to updating my blog regularly.

Please continue to remember Legacy in your prayers as this is our first week of the second semester. Remember Japur. He's still in the hospital and so is his mom, but they both are continuing to get better and better. Maybe they will be out by the end of the week or beginning of next week.

Thank you all for your love, notes, prayers, and encouragement! :)

Lots of Love and Hugs,
Lainy J.
